I still cross the street to my mailbox each day thinking that there'll be a letter telling me that some distant, truly distant, relative has died and left me all her money!!!!!! A million smack-er-oos!!!! And always there's no letter. And always I think, "Maybe. Tomorrow."

As to museums. I need to visit the ones in Kansas City. I've lived here in Missouri now for four years. It's time! I remember wanting a backpack with Woohoo's name on it, and the company saying they only did initials/monograms for that very reason.Carrie Wilson Linkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01586157395539583862noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24806308.post-32386869098457431702013-05-01T10:50:45.224-07:002013-05-01T10:50:45.224-07:00You really nailed it. Older kids can't think of anything much but themselves. And we're so used to heaving ourselves through what is real, day to day, that we can appreciate something not ordinary.
I'm still taking my kids, tho. I try to make a story around everything. Even a bakelite rotary phone at the local history museum I try to make a game out of. I just love museums so much I can't not include them in it.
