I've studied first-century Palestine and Rome and discovered that the belief at that time was that there was only so much abundance and if one person had a lot, then others would not have much and would not have the chance to have more. <br /><br />It's the always wanting more that does a lot of us in. More of almost everything. For myself right now, I'm learning that more is just icing on the cake--and sometimes bad-tasting icing at that. It's the cake that nourishes.
